"I feel it is important to continue to share my creative expertise and time with the communities
in which I live, so I teach. It gives me great pleasure and I think that if everyone shared his
or her creative abilities and perceptions, this world would be a very different place."
Bio
Margaret
Graham was born and raised in upstate NY and completed her undergraduate work at Nazareth College of Rochester.
It is at Nazareth that she discovered printmaking; this quickly became her main artistic passion. Margaret completed her
Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking at the University of Oregon where she assisted with the
teaching of printmaking classes under a teaching fellowship for three years.
After four more years of teaching in the States,
Margaret taught two years of Art Foundations and Printmaking at one of
the
first colleges for women's higher education in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She chose
to travel to Jeddah for the
opportunity to help establish a strong Foundations
program in the Creative Arts area and stayed
a second year to design a
Printmaking studio and course. It is said to be one
of the first printmaking studios of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
Margaret has now traveled to Kuwait to help build an art minor at the Gulf University for Science
and Technology.
She remains an active member of the Northwest Print Council and
continues
to create
fine art prints and paintings. Her work is represented at
PAN Gallery
and other galleries in Oregon and Washington.
She continues to exhibit her artwork in the
States and internationally.
